Chandler Ford burglars threaten neighbor with knife after break-in sets off alarm

Burglars threatened a neighbor with a knife when their break-in set off an alarm.

Two men broke into a property on Lakewood Road in Chandler’s Ford on Thursday evening (November 25).

Hampshire Police were called around 7.15pm.

When police arrived, they were told that two men had threatened a neighbor with a knife, after the neighbor had been alerted to the raid by a burglar alarm.

The threats were made as the two burglars fled.

Police are carrying out additional patrols in the area and are looking for suspicious vehicles.

But officers now also want the public’s help in tracking down the culprits.

Detective Sergeant Simon Price, of Hampshire Constabulary’s Operation Hawk team, said: ‘We are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time and may have seen suspicious vehicles or persons in the locality yesterday (November 25) .

“Our officers will be carrying out additional patrols in the area to reassure the local community and continue their investigations.”
