Edwards plans Chandler, Arizona, semiconductor manufacturing plant

Edwards, the leading provider of vacuum and reduction services and solutions to the global semiconductor industry, will establish a new 200,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Chandler, Arizona. The project should create around 200 jobs.

The location will remanufacture and assemble essential equipment to meet the demand for new semiconductor manufacturing requirements. Construction is underway at the new site, which will also include warehousing facilities, factory areas, meeting rooms and a dedicated training center.

“Unprecedented growth in the semiconductor market to meet growing consumer demand around the world has resulted in extraordinary growth in demand for Edwards products and services,” said Troy Metcalf, president of Edwards Semiconductor. Service. “Going forward, this growth is expected to continue, with our customers in the United States investing billions of dollars in additional manufacturing capabilities. At Edwards, we have a long tradition of supporting our customers with local service and manufacturing capabilities, and our investment in the Chandler plant continues that tradition.

The facility will use advanced automation and data solutions to disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, replace and reassemble the vacuum pumps. Reducing transportation through proximity to customers, as well as recycling water and using renewable energy will all contribute to more sustainable manufacturing operations.

“Edwards is a global leader in the semiconductor supply chain and we are proud that the company is part of the Arizona semiconductor industry,” said Sandra Watson, president and CEO of Edwards. Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA). “Edwards’ innovative vacuum and reduction solutions for semiconductor manufacturing will advance Arizona’s leadership as a semiconductor hub while creating hundreds of skilled jobs. We look forward to supporting Edwards as they begin production at their manufacturing facility later this year. »
