Man arrested after alleged assault and indecent exposure at Chandler’s Ford pub
An Eastleigh man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and indecent assault after revealing himself to staff at a pub in Chandler’s Ford.
Police are investigating the 23-year-old in connection with a host of violations in and around the Halfway Inn on Friday night.
Officers were first called after receiving reports of an assault outside the Winchester Road pub at around 11.20pm.
A customer was approached by site staff after a complaint was made against him before he began to become verbally and physically abusive. It is alleged that he then exposed himself indecently to the two female staff members.
The man’s behavior then allegedly escalated, and he allegedly assaulted others in the room before kicking a taxi on Winchester Road, causing damage to door panels and bumpers.
He is further accused of assaulting the two pub workers and an innocent bystander as they followed him down the road, before throwing a brick at a passing vehicle.
A 23-year-old man from Eastleigh has been arrested on suspicion of common assault, indecent assault, criminal damage and using threatening, abusive or insulting words to cause harassment, alarm or of distress.
While in police custody, the man was seen indecently exposing himself to officers before making further derogatory comments towards them.
He has since been released under investigation. Police investigations are continuing to establish the exact circumstances of the incidents before officers consider seeking advice from the Crown Prosecution Service for the relevant charges to be brought.
